Job Description

Language specialist (in-house interpreter)

■About the job
We will support the members of PayPay Card, who are of different nationalities and cultures, in terms of communication so that the business can grow.

As a language "communication specialist," you will mainly perform simultaneous interpretation work as a language specialist for PayPay Card's management and employees, and in various types of internal and external meetings, as well as translation work for documents, etc.

*As the company as a whole is promoting the globalization of the technology department, there are many opportunities for interpretation and translation, especially in those areas.

PayPay Card is focusing on recruiting engineers and is also strengthening global recruitment. We are recruiting new members to strengthen the support system for the increasing number of global members in the future.

In addition, members who do the same work from group companies are seconded, so please rest assured that you will not be working alone.

New joiners will receive training in the form of being accompanied by senior interpreters for a while.

[Specific duties]
Support business negotiations, meetings, presentations, internal meetings, etc. in the technology department with high-quality English-Japanese interpretation (simultaneous interpretation)
Quick and accurate translation
Provide seamless communication and understanding through communication support
You will also be responsible for other language-related tasks.

Mandatory Requirements

- Required languages: Japanese and English (※Native English speaker or equivalent language ability)
- Simultaneous interpretation skills
- Translation skills
- High communication skills (able to communicate smoothly with members with different backgrounds, such as nationality, language, occupation, gender, age, culture, etc.)
A spirit of challenge that allows you to self-motivate and tackle tasks quickly and proactively, even if you have never done them before
- Flexibility to respond flexibly to anyone in any situation
- A global mindset while understanding the Japanese business environment and corporate culture

Preferred Requirements

Desired Experience/Skills:
・3-5 years of simultaneous interpretation experience
・Interpretation experience in the technology field
・English proficiency at a level capable of performing native checks for translations
・Knowledge of apps, payments, competitors, and industry background
・Experience supporting executives or management
・Preferably, interpretation experience in industries such as technology, payments, or finance
