Job Description

The company’s financial systems division handles about 20 projects, primarily with megabanks and trust banks, with a particular strength in derivatives trading, market risk management, and EUC development for trust business. While focusing on these areas, the division is also expanding into new fields such as data utilization projects using BI tools and ETL tools, as well as ESG-related businesses. We are looking for potential software engineers (SEs), project leaders (PLs), and managers with experience in leadership, as well as seasoned professionals who can lead the organization. These roles are positioned directly with clients, allowing for growth into higher-level positions such as upstream engineering, leadership roles, or even PM (Project Manager), group leader (manager), or department head.

As the roles are prime to sub-prime positions, you will be able to directly interact with clients. This allows for growth based on the design and implementation skills you’ve acquired, and the opportunity to advance in upstream processes, leadership roles, and further organizational management. The division is also expanding beyond finance, so you will have the chance to acquire industry knowledge not just limited to finance but across a broad range of sectors. Technically, the division is working with newer technologies like Python, various cloud technologies, agile development, and even low-code development for future readiness.

Positions Available:
1. Web System SE: Engineers with knowledge of designing REST APIs and managing state with tools like Redux. Experience with React for frontend development or large-scale system modernization is a plus. There is also the possibility of a cross-functional technical support role across business units in the future.

2. Financial SE: A position for those with financial knowledge who will gain experience from upstream to downstream processes and grow into a multi-faceted role handling both the entire process and management.

3. Financial PL: Initially taking on a sub-leadership role and later advancing to PL/PM to lead projects. There will also be opportunities to take on project and organizational operations, including mentoring junior staff.

4. Infrastructure SE: Infrastructure engineers working on tasks such as OS and middleware setup for development projects, with the opportunity to expand into full-stack development with business application development experience.

Example Projects and Environment:
・Market-based financial transaction management systems
・Bank data utilization systems
・Megabank ALM (Asset Liability Management) systems
・New energy risk management systems
・Technologies include Java, C, JavaScript (React), Python, AWS, Azure, Microservices, CI/CD, BI (Tableau), Kubernetes, REST.

Business Outlook: The company has extensive experience in building systems for megabanks centered around derivatives trading. Major projects are planned, such as comprehensive overhauls of system architectures. At the same time, agile systems using packages and services are being introduced. With the backdrop of rising interest rates, the company is expanding into loan-based businesses and sustainable finance. The company is also moving into new areas utilizing large-scale data for new banking services and developing business not only for financial institutions but also for non-financial sectors like trading and energy companies.

Project Scale:
50-300 man-months / 6 months to over a year

Team Structure:
Financial Division 1: 25 members (main customers: large-scale financial institutions)
Financial Division 2: 8 members (main customers: trust banks)
Financial Division 3: 18 members (main customers: non-financial institutions, new areas)
Financial Division 4: 20 members (main customers: information systems, user support)

The teams are young, with new graduates and second-year hires joining every year. Within the department, flexibility is maintained, with roles divided by customer or business, not by strict hierarchical divisions.

Project Phases: Involvement in the development process from user requirement gathering to design, production, and testing depending on experience.

Career Plan: You will first join a project where you will deepen your understanding of the company’s culture and build connections with clients and partners. Over time, you will expand your career in financial business systems development and move up to leadership roles, including upstream processes. Later, you will support PL/PM in retention projects and contribute to new project proposals. As you gain more management experience, you will eventually have the opportunity to become a group leader and manage a team of 5-10 people. The potential to progress to department head exists, and support is provided for those without prior financial business knowledge, especially if you have an interest in and a willingness to learn about finance.
